Former singer and TV hostess, Lay Leakhena, announced that she is still
in doubt over restarting her career as an entertainer after a long
hiatus away from the industry.
Leakhena, who ranked third in a singing competition on Cambodian National Television, disappeared from the entertainment industry around nine years ago after she had married an American-Cambodian man from abroad but divorced a year later.
“I really miss the entertainment industry”, she told The Phnom Penh Post Thursday.
Even though her marriage ended several years ago, Leakhena focuses on her current career as a saleswoman at Ou Russey market rather than new love.
"I currently don’t have any anyone right now because my work comes first, and I'm thinking of getting back into entertainment,"she said.
“I quit the entertainment business about nine years ago and now I really miss it because my current career is not that busy”, she said, hinting at production companies and film makers who may be interested in giving her a chance.
“I have enough time to work in entertainment now, and that I will not reject any invitations or requests for me to perform."
“Although I hint at a career in the entertainment industry, I will not accept any performances that will take up all of my time," she added.
